Cube to sphere

i want to animate a cube turning to a sphere i tried it is not possible with blend shapes is there any other possibilities...

i think u can use blend shape itself,while creating blend shapes just uncheck the check topology button.

Thanks for the idea, it is getting transformed, but there is a great distortion in between, i need a linear transformation. Is there any method to get the transformation in a linear method
