By the end of this Tutorial, your output should look something like this:

Steps
                                                          
1) Open an image and then go to the Image Menu > Adjustments > Desaturate

2) Create a new document with 1 px width, 2 px height and with a Transparent Background.

3) Select half of the document and fill it with black.

4) After that, select the whole document ( Ctrl+A) and then go to the Edit menu > Define Pattern. Give a name for your pattern and then press OK.

5) Go back to your image file.

6)Next, go to the Edit Menu > Fill...> Use drop down menu> Pattern > Custom Pattern > Select your pattern.
