Animating PFX along the curve is a step-by-step tutorial on
how to animate a PFX along the curve using Autodesk Maya 7.0.
This tutorial assumes that, the reader is having a basic
understanding of Maya menu system and toolbox.
The first step in animating a PFX along the curve is to create curves in the shape you want.
After creating this curves in the desired shape you need to select the types
of brushes from the visor while keeping the curve selected as
shown in Figure 1.

The next step is to attach the brush to the curves. For that under the rendering section go the
Paint effects menu.
Paint effects -> curve utilities -> attach brush to curves.

Now the brush you selected is attached to your curve.
Now animate the Max Clip value under the stroke shape1 tab of the stroke.
